Frequently Asked Questions
What type of sewing machines do you own? I sew everything on a Baby Lock Quilter’s Choice. I inherited it from my mother after she passed away from breast cancer. I very rarely quilt but love sewing on this machine for sentimental reasons. I also own a Baby Lock Celebrity serger, a Brother 1034D serger, and a Brother PE770 embroidery machine.
I want to learn to sew. What sewing machine do you recommend for a beginning seamstress? I love Baby Lock sewing machines. When friends ask me for a recommendation, I always suggest this brand at whatever price point they are able to afford.
I want to create things and learn to sew but I can’t afford a machine right now. What type of projects can I make without a machine? Before I started sewing, I realized that I needed a hobby so I ran to Hobby Lobby and purchased a beginner embroidery book. It taught me the basics, and I took off from there. Embroidery is a very cheap hobby and you can make gorgeous things! It’s also a great portable craft. I embroider on long car and plane rides and while watching television at night.
I want to learn to sew. Where do I begin? We are so fortunate to live in a time where we have so many options. I never took sewing lessons and am entirely self-taught. YouTube has great resources and there are also so many great books out there, but I have learned almost everything from just buying patterns and figuring it out myself. If learning to sew is your passion, there is nothing stopping you!
Can I buy your makes or hire you to for a custom sewing project? I do not sell my makes or do custom sewing for hire.
